Applications of elementary nuclear physics in nuclear engineering. Nuclear reactor materials and components. Steady-state and transient operation of nuclear reactors. Nuclear energy removal and conversion. Radiation shielding. Course Information: Prerequisite: Credit for PHYS 211; credit or concurrent registration in CS 101 or 124 or 125; credit or concurrent registration in MATH 285.
