Radiant Futures - Where to find us
“Entrepreneurship can’t be taught, but it can be learned.” - Bill Aulet, author of Disciplined Entrepreneurship
No one can tell you exactly what will work. Our experiences, even among the Radiant Futures advisory board, are different and what worked for us, won't necessarily work for you. But talking about the challenges that an entrepreneur faces and how we solved a similar problem in our business career can trigger design thinking about a novel solution.
We believe that the best way to elevate entrepreneurship as an option is to talk about what sparked our journeys, why we built the teams we did, how we learned to obsessively focus on solving problems for customers and share the real stories where we stepped on a rake. Mistakes are inevitable, but learning from the past can inform the future.
We speak in front of students and faculty in classes, planting a seed about entrepreneurship as an opportunity for whenever inspiration or necessity strikes. Collectively, we talk in NPRE and TEC classes throughout the year. Here is a list of the typical classes where we appear:
- NPRE 100 - Orientation to NPRE - Focused talk on the big picture of entrepreneurship.
- NPRE 199 - Undergrad Seminar - Sharing our individual entrepreneurial journey stories
- NPRE 458/558 - Senior Design - Providing feedback about customer discovery, total addressable market and go to market strategies.
- ENG 471 - Seminar Energy & Systems - Sharing our individual entrepreneurial journey stories
- NPRE 596 - Seminar in Nuclear Science & Engineering - Inspirational stories of turning research into companies and actionable presentation on entrepreneurial resources available on campus.
- TE 360/460 - Entrepreneurship Seminar - Sharing our individual entrepreneurial journey stories
- TE 598 - Deep Tech Accelerator - Semester long mentorship of deep tech endeavors to move teams up the DOE technology readiness level ladder.
We also participate as judges and mentors in campus competitions (such as the Cozad new venture competition), departmental activities supporting student research and individual mentorship on request.
If you are an NPRE alumni, student or supporter, join our Radiant Futures Discord community where we are always available. In the Discord community, we have support for entrepreneurs, industry updates, entrepreneur resources and a forum for discussion. We are looking to build the network of alumni with connections to share, expertise to show and time to give.
