NPRE - Bruce W. Spencer Endowed Graduate Award

The award was established in memory of alumnus Bruce W. Spencer, who earned a master’s degree in 1965 and a Ph.D. in 1970 in Nuclear Engineering. Spencer built his career in experimental reactor safety research until his death in 2001.

The award is presented to a graduate student of high academic standing whose research promises to advance the state of nuclear engineering, specifically as it relates to reactor safety.
