Alumni and Friends to Attend Miley Conference, Extend Congratulations

NPRE alumni and friends from all over the world are sending messages to share their memories and extend their congratulations to Emeritus Prof. George H. Miley on his stellar career.

NPRE is happy to host the Nuclear Energy Research Conference – Celebrating Professor Emeritus George H. Miley’s 50 Years of Research and Teaching at the University of Illinois, on Friday, April 15, 2011. The all-day event will be held in 190 Engineering Science Building, 1101 W. Springfield Ave., Urbana, Illinois. (view campus maps at http://illinois.edu/ricker/CampusMap?target=search&building=174)The conference will focus on the ground-breaking work Professor Miley and his students have accomplished in nuclear fission, fusion and plasma technologies, as well as the future directions for these fields. The program is shaping up to include panel discussions on the TRIGA reactor, Fusion, Lasers, Inertial Electrostatic Confinement (IEC), and the part Professor Miley has played in shaping NPRE’s role in the College of Engineering and the University of Illinois. The conference will conclude with an invited lecture and tours of several facilities on the College of Engineering ca mpus.
