NPRE offers our best wishes to our newest alumni, and prepares for the fresh faces that will be joining us in August.
Over the past year the department conferred 16 PhD degrees, the largest number in many years. NPRE also awarded degrees to 37 students earning their bachelor's, and 16 earning master's degrees.
Meanwhile, 19 new graduate students will be joining the department this fall, pushing the total graduate student enrollment to over 100 students – the first time that number has been reached since the 1970s. The incoming graduate students hail from all parts of the world – Argentina, China, Egypt, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States. Their research will cover varied aspects of nuclear engineering, including studies in fission, radiological science, plasma fusion and materials.
