Scot Greenlee, Senior Vice President of Engineering and Technical Support; Ken Peterson, Vice President of Nuclear Fuels, and Ed McVey, Director of BWR Core Design, chatted over lunch with NPRE students who have held internships at Exelon or have been recipients of Exelon-NPRE Visionary Scholarships.

Several of the students will be graduating and joining Exelon for fulltime positions. Speaking during the event, Greenlee welcomed them and praised their choice of nuclear power for their careers.

Recently, Exelon has established for NPRE scholarships a $500,000 endowment that is a combination of the company’s pledge and a dollar-for-dollar matching gift from The Grainger Foundation Matching Challenge program. Now through the end of 2019, The Grainger Foundation will double the impact of all new scholarship funds in the College of Engineering.

Exelon’s generosity has been pivotal in creating NPRE’s largest scholarship fund, one that enables NPRE to offer transformational scholarships to recruit and retain excellent students.

In addition to meeting with students, the guests also met with NPRE faculty and toured labs to determine ways to continue growing a flourishing partnership.
