Title: Seminar of Security
Catalogue Description: Technology and security issues are analyzed through preparation of reports on a weekly seminar chosen from a regular seminar offering or an alternative approved list. Topics covered include technology of domestic and international security and the regional and international contexts that influence the nature of security problems. May be repeated in separate terms to a maximum of 2 hours. Junior standing is required.

Basic Texts: Seminar speakers will be asked to provide web reference materials as background for their presentations. Electronically provided background materials not previously available on the web will be posted for the course.
Prerequisites: Junior standing is required. Composition I
Purpose of Course: To acquaint students with current issues revelant to technology and security. Students will write summaries of 14 seminar presentations chosen from a series designed for the class or other pre-approved lectures on campus, of which half should cover technology questions, and draw together what they have learned in preparation for a summary final exam. The cross-listing of this course under the GLOBE rubric is to provide guidance for students wishing to sue it to fulfill the Professional, Technical, or Scientific Core for the International Studies Major.
